You don't have to be rich to come to Barbados
22nd May, 2012Many people have this impression that in order to holiday in Barbados you must be working for at least 6 figures a year. We are here to tell you this is in no form or fashion true. Barbados is a high end destination but that does not mean you cannot take a budgeted vacation here. We are going to share some tips with you that can lower your costs and maximize your spending.
* Visit in the summer months as this is our low season. What does low season equate to? Lower hotel rates, lower plane fares and tons of special offers in restaurants.
* There are many budget and boutique hotels in Barbados which are clean, safe and very central! Two great ones are Coral Sands and Adulo Apartments.
* Stay in a hotel/apartment with a kitchenette and use it! Buy groceries from a local market and cook some of the meals on your vacation. You will be surprised of how much money you will save.
* And because you cant possibly cook every meal and Barbados is a culinary destination in itself there are many fabulous spots around that boast even more fabulous prices. Some recommendations Sand Dunes, Cuz, and Oistins Fish Fry. If you are looking for a more upscale restaurant but don't want that horrific upscale price we would recommend Naru on the South coast or Scarlett on the West coast.
* Pack essentials like sunblock, insect repellent as those items can be very overpriced due to the high demand.
* To get around rent a car rather than taking a taxi.
* Take self guided tours. The best of barbados can actually be seen on your own and for free!
So if you daydream about Barbados but always thought it was out of your reach..now you know those dreams can become a reality.
