It’s the month of November and the entire island is a buzz with activity in light of this year’s 50th anniversary Independence celebrations! Barbados Event 1. Barbados Open Water Swim Festival 2016- The 5th Barbados Open Water Festival will once again take place at the beautiful Carlisle Bay St Michael. This years event will include Open Water swim events, stand up paddle board races, kayak team relay races as well as a 10K Race. Don’t miss this opportunity to show case your skills while competing for some amazing prizes and surprises! Barbados Event 2. Pigtails and Breadfruit Food-Inclusive Bus Tour- The Barbados Museum is celebrating Barbados’ 50th anniversary with an educational tour into Barbadian cuisine the popular, the forgotten and those that have stood the test of time! Food will act as the gastronomic guide on this tour as you explore the underpinning stories of the areas to be visited. Lunch and learn the history of Barbadian cuisine in a new and innovative way! Barbados Event 3. Barbados Food and Rum Festival 2016- It’s back and its tastier than ever! Enjoy the best of food, wine, rum and culture as the finest local and world-renowned chefs, award winning local practitioners and wine experts come together to create an unbelievable culinary expedition not to be missed! The festival runs from November 17th to 20th and includes demonstrations from top international chefs Jean-Georges, Craig Harding and many more! Barbados Event 4. 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations: Golden Spectacular Mega Concert- Experience an explosion of love, pride culture and patriotism as the entire island joins hands in celebration of Barbados’ 50 anniversary of independence! The day begins with the annual independence parade at 8 am; this years parade is expected to include over 1000 participants marching in celebratory unison! The Golden Spectacular Mega Concert will begin at 8 pm and will include a cultural performance by international superstar Rihanna as well as performances by numerous local acts! Come out to the Garrison Savannah St. Michael in your independence colours and celebrate as we review five decades of Barbadian cultural history through song and dance! This historic event is absolutely FREE, so don’t miss a minuet of the celebrations!

Barbados Event 5. Pirates Cove: Celebrate Barbados’ 50 with us! Check out Pirates Cove every Thursday from 6pm for karaoke and every Friday night for their after work lime, wings and beer specials available!
