Barefoot on the Beach: Ginger Bay Beach
5th March, 2013Located next to one of the most famous beaches on the island is Ginger Bay Beach, the neighbour of The Crane Beach. Ginger Bay beach is one of those stunning South East beaches which stretches on for miles with white-pink sands and gorgeous clear waters. If you venture North of The Crane Beach and past the rocks dividing the two beaches it will take you to Ginger Bay. The beach has an expansive area of sand with dramatic cliff faces and secret caves. The beach is a great option for picnicking and of course sun tanning and relaxing, however, you should be a bit cautious when swimming as the sea here does tend to have under currents and can be rough at times. You will see both visitors and locals at this beach but it is considered a relatively quiet which is perfect for enjoying that intimate time with a loved ones The beach does not offer any amenities such as washrooms or food stands so we suggest you go to a nearby supermarket before to stock up on your necessities.
Ginger Bay is one of those beaches that you don't think of because it is a little hidden away but we would definitely suggest you visit it and at the same time take a stroll along the well known Crane beach.

Ginger Bay Beach
That used to be Shanty Beach before all the building of Ginger Bay and the beach was only accessed through "Jacks Hole" stairs down through the cavelike rocks..if memory serves correctly used to stay in a house where Ginger Bay is now...lots of memories..
We would love to hear what you think.
