What's Happening: Barbados Events May 2016

Summer is just months away and Barbados is buzzing with activity, as preparations begin for the official start of the Crop Over season! So get those tickets, pack those bags and get your ready for these amazing events coming your way in the month of May!

Barbados Event 1. Celebrations of Rhythms Bajan Lime, Cultural Show and Street Party: Come out and enjoy a night of Bajan culture, music and food, with live performances, live cooking stations, rum demonstrations and so much more; at the Plantation Gardens Christ Church. Experience Barbadian culture at its finest on Thursday May 5th from 6:30pm to 10 pm. General admission to the event is $92.50 US. Barbados Event 2. The Gap Theater Presents Tales of an Obeah Man: A locally written and directed play which focuses on the themes of wealth, greed and passion. It is intense, comical and thought provoking, Tales of an Obeah Man is a show not to be missed. Enjoy local talent at its finest, as these young gifted performers take you on an unforgettable journey. The play ­­­will be held on May 6^th and 7^th at 7:30pm The Gap Theater St Lawrence Gap, tickets are available for $20 US.

Barbados Event 3. Barbados Festival of Speed 2016 - Bushy Park Motor Sports: Three-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton will be performing live at the Festival of Speed! Making a high-speed contribution to the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Barbados’ Independence, at the wheel of his Formula 1 car. So if your looking for excitement and non stop action, live entertainment and a display show of classic cars, this is the event for you! Sunday May 8^th from 9am to 6pm at Bushy Park Racing Circuit, admission is $25 US and children under 12 are FREE.

Barbados Event 4. Historic Garrison Night Tour & Tunnel Experience: Want to learn all about historic Garrison and the amazing events which occurred there? Take part in the fascinating experience and learn all about the Garrison’s tragic tales and centuries of old mysteries yet to be solved. Barbados Event 5. Sugarcane Jazz and Blues: The Sugarcane Jazz and Blues returns to Clifton Hall Great House. Enjoy a nice relaxing night of soulful jazz music by local acts, light refreshments and great entertainment. This event will be held on Friday 20^th May at 7pm. Barbados Event 6. Barbados Gospelfest Sunset Concert: Enjoy spiritual performances by both local and international gospel artists. Come out and be serenaded with praise and worship as Barbadians lift their voices in unison. The sunset concert will be held in Independence Square Bridgetown on Wednesday May 25^th at 5:30 pm, admission is FREE.
