Bottoms Up: The Old Fashioned

12th June, 2013
Old-Fashioned made with Banks Rum

Thirsty again? How about trying the classic cocktail, The Old Fashioned, with a little Caribbean twist? The Old Fashioned came about in the 1800s when many 'old-timers' were getting fretful with all the new “fancy” and "Frilly" cocktails being created. Instead, they would have to ask for a cocktail with their choice of spirit, 'old fashioned style.'Originally, The Old Fashioned cocktail was made with whiskey, sugar, water, and bitters. This time, we are going to add some Caribbean flare to it, and make it with Banks rum! Take a look at the recipe below, and enjoy!

The Old Fashioned

2 shots Banks 7 island Gold Rum

1 tea spoon of sugar

3 dashes of angostura bitters

Garnished: orange twist

Method: stir with ice, until you get the right dilution.

Cheers!
