Accommodation Review: Santosha {part 1}

23rd January, 2013
Welcome to Santosha Barbados

A few weeks ago Kimberly and I had the pleasure of staying at the rustic and delightful Santosha. Now, many of you may not have heard of Santosha up until now as it is a relatively new set of apartments located on Barbados’ rugged East coast. As we drove along the coast road passing Barclays Park, we excitedly anticipated our stay at this place where quiet luxury awaits. As we drew nearer, the brown wooden apartments peeped out from the hills above which exuded a feeling of utter peace.

Santosha Barbados

Santosha sits upon a hill, which boasts splendid views of blues skies and seas, white sands, and of course the rugged rolling hills of the Scotland District. It is made up of ten (10) tastefully designed and kept rooms in which all are fully equipped. The location is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle and just relax while enjoying the sounds of the Atlantic crashing against the shore and of course that refreshing salt air breeze.

Pool at Santosha Barbados

Even though Santosha is very much away from the hustle and bustle you can still acquire the majority of your needs and wants whilst you stay there. Just a few minutes towards the North is Belleplaine which homes a well stocked supermarket, gas station, post office and police station. Also, many of Barbados’ attractions such as but not limited to Chalky Mount, The Barbados Wildlife Reserve, Andromeda Gardens and of course the famous Soup Bowl in Bathsheba are easily accessible from Santosha. The location is considered very versatile as it has much to offer if you are looking for some adventure or if you just want to relax by the pool and enjoy the stunning views that the East coast has to offer. Now, let us not forget the beach, 12 miles of it sits just at your doorstep. Filled with perfectly positioned rock pools when the tide is right, and white sands in which there are hidden treasures like egg shaped white stones and aged sea glass, the beach can be considered an adventure in itself. Just be cautious not to walk too far when it is quiet as it can become very secluded and lonely.
