Barefoot on the Beach: Sandy Beach

Located on the South Coast of Barbados is the well known and very popular Sandy Beach. The name speaks for itself, as you enter the closed off bay, you are welcomed with white sands and of course crystal clear Caribbean waters. The beach offers a lovely, flat, sandy lagoon for you to lounge on all day while soaking up the sun or engaging in a water sport activity. It is perfect for children as the waters are very calm and shallow. When the tide is out you can actually see the stretch of reef which surrounds this beautiful bay, and on a full moon some locals take their BBQs on the elevated reef and have a small full moon fiesta! This beach is perfect for a fun picnic or you can enjoy some cocktails and bites at the Carib Beach Bar which is a stones throw away from the water's edge. Sandy beach is located in Worthing, Christ Church and is a convenient beach to visit if you are staying on the South coast.  It is approximately a 10 minute walk from St. Lawrence Gap and is easily accessible from the main road.
