What's Happening: Destination 439 Moon Town

On Saturday we were so excited to visit Moon Town with Destination 439. They hosted an event for all to come out and enjoy the culture of Barbados - domino games, steel pan, mother Sally, arts & crafts, folk singing and much more!

When we first arrived we were greeted by the sweet sound of steel pan which was soon followed by our very popular 2015 Calypso songs. Everyone was in good spirits and having a ball. The beach just in front of Moon town was filled with children from the surrounding areas playing, fishing and just having a great time in the brilliant Barbados sunshine! We just missed the glass-bottom boat that was heading out to take its passengers along the Western Coast of St. Lucy!

We headed for a few fishcakes to snack on and wondered around taking in the cultural beauty that surrounded us! Before we knew it the glass-bottom boat was returning to the shore to pick us up. We waited a few minutes, bobbing on the crystal clear ocean while Janice and her team gathered some additional passengers to enjoy the Journey.

We headed north, first passing, Fryer’s Well Bay, then Hangman’s Bay and finally we docked just in front of Maycock’s Bay.  Here we had some delish rum punch while we were tested on our knowledge of St. Lucy Bays by way of a trivia! We had no idea St. Lucy has 35 bays along its dramatic coastline; it is such an incredible Parish!

After the trivia we slowly drifted back to Moon Town where we gathered our belongings and headed off.  It was an incredible day enjoyed by all!
