Off the Beaten Track: Archer's Bay
8th April, 2014How can one live in Barbados and not know absolutley every thing about it, It is only 21 X 14 miles afterall. Actually, it is very very easy. Barbados is known for its diversity - pristine white sand beachs on some coasts and dark rough atlantic waves smashing bolders on the other. However, there are some places where these two contrasting enviroments collide. One example is Archer's Bay.
Located on the northern tip of Barbados, on the West side of St. Lucy, this Bay is where the Atlantic meets with the Caribbean sea. The result a stunner of a view, and on calm days a fabulous bay perfect for relaxing and picnicing. It is not recommened swimming as there can be dangerous undertows and large waves, however the dramatic scenery is worth the journey! Many locals in the area will picnic on the large grass field atop the cliff other will venture down to the bay itself. Nonetheless this very vivid bay will leave you little to desire.
