Barefoot on the Beach: Fitts Village Beach
28th January, 2014It is time for another 'barefoot on the beach' segment and today we will talk about Fitts Village Beach. Located on the West Coast of Barbados, just north of Prospect Bay, this beach usually has calm and tranquil waters which are dotted with small reefs. The reefs make for an interesting snorkeling experience, you may even see a turtle or two! However be wary of passing boats and jet skis as there is no swimming or snorkeling barriers. On the beach itself and in the ocean there are both old and new Barbadian styled and built fishing boats which add great character and charm. Often by the roadside of the beach you will see locals playing dominos, chatting and laughing away.
Like most West coast beaches the sand is powdery and white. There are no chairs and umbrellas for rent, however the trees which border the beach provide good shade from the brilliant sunshine which is often present! Enjoy!
