Whats Happening? Barbados Events May 2013
2nd May, 2013May oh May, here we are at the beginning of the fifth month of the 2013. In case you will be joining us, take a look at the interesting events which will be happening this month in Barbados!
Barbados May Event 1. Mount Gay Rum Barbados Regatta - This event will be held at Carlisle Bay from the 16th-19th May and is hosted by the Barbados Sailing Association. Addmission for this event is free and boats have the choice of entering in 4 categories, these being Racing Class, Cruising A, Cruising B, and the very popular J24.
Barbados May Event 2. Barbados Celtic Festival 2013- This festival will be held from the 23rd-29th May and celebrates the link between Barbados and the Celtic countries. There will be many different activities lined up from musical performances to chef/ food presentations. There will be the Piping Quartet, Seudan from Scotland, Big Rory street Theatre, award winning vocalists Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller, with guitarist Aaron Jones, Cape Bretoners, Kenneth and Calum Mackenzie, and from Ireland, the amazing Alan Kelly Gang. Barbados May Event 3. Sol King of the Hill Shakedown Rally- This event will be held on the 26th May and is hosted by the Barbados Rally Club at Orange Hill St. Peter. The event will start at 10 AM and continue until 5 PM. This is the warm up rally before the big Sol Rally Barbados so come out and support your favourite rally car drivers!
Barbados May Event 4. European Film Festival- This event will be held from the 17th-26th May at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination at UWI, Cavehill Campus. This is the 5th European film festival and commemorates and celebrates the linkages between the European Union and Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. Barbados May Event 5. Tour of the Garrison Historic Area- This event will be held at the recently recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site. You travel though the area by air conditioned bus with knowledgeable multi-lingual tour guides at your side. The tour will stop at George Washington House, The National Armoury,The Barbados Museum Gift Shop, the changing of Sentry and finally St. Ann Fort where you will be treated to beverages and snacks. The admission to this event is $89.00 BBD (visitors) and $67.00 BBD (under 17 yrs) which includes transport to and from your hotel and $66.00 BBD for residents and $49.00 BBD (under 17 years). The event will be held on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th May starting at 9:15 AM-12:15 PM. For more information on this event, please contact (246) 233-2601.
