What's Happening: Barbados Events March 2014

Barbados March 2014 Event 1.  Agrofest 2014- This National Agricultural Exhibition will be held on Saturday March 1st where there will be Livestock shows and judging and on
Sunday March 2^nd for a Plantation Breakfast; An Evening of Gospel; Agility Dog Show and Sheep Show. This event will take place at Queens Park, St. Michael. There will be farmers, craft persons and processors of agricultural products involved in the exhibition. Last year there were approximately 60,000 visitors and over 250 exhibits running daily. For more information on this event, please call 246-436-6683.

Barbados March 2014 Event 2. Open House: Grendon House Sandy Lane- This open house is hosted by the Barbados National Trust. Live the life of luxury, at least for the afternoon, in this 5-bedroom villa set in Sandy Lane Estate. Its coral-stone walls and high ceilings frame a space where comfort is king and design details give delightful surprises. Both breezy and sumptuous, Grendon House gives a glimpse of getaway good life, Barbados style. This event will be held on the 5th March from 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Admission for the event is as follows: General Bds $30.00, Children 5-10 yrs of age $15.00, Children under 5 Free, BARP Members $25.00, Members of the Barbados National Trust $20.00 upon presentation of membership card. Barbados March 2014 Event 3. Sandy Lane Gold Cup- This event is in its 34th year, 19 of which have been sponsored by Sandy Lane. It is the most prestigious horse race in the Caribbean and is the keynote race of the Barbados Turf Club. Run annually in early March, horses come from the Caribbean and North America to take part. The Gold Cup is a 12-horse race.  Post time is usually around 4:50 pm. Come early to get a place. For more information on this event, please see the website here. 

Barbados March 2014 Event 4. England VS West Indies Twenty 20 Cricket- The upcoming matches will be held on the 5th, 9th, 11th and 13th of March at the Kensington Oval! It will be an exciting set of matches to look forward to with England and the West Indies battling it out. Please see here for the scheduling and ticketing. Barbados March 2014 Event 5. Drift Gallery: Rasheed Boodhoo - 2 Square 2 Be a Drift- Drift Gallery presents their new exhibition 2 Square 2 Be a Drift, by talented local photographer Rashid Boodhoo. The exhibition will be from the 1st-11th March at Drift Ocean Terrace Lounge in Holetown, St. James. The opening hours are from 5:30PM onwards every day except Mondays. Barbados March 2014 Event 6. Barbados Polo Season- Within this month there will be 3 different tours for the Polo Season: the Cheshire Tour, Barbados Open 8 Goal and the Lion Castle Tour. It runs from the 2nd March to the 30th March at the various different polo fields on the island.
