What's Happening: Barbados Events June 2012
1st June, 2012Barbados June Event 1. Sol Rally Barbados 2012- This racing event will be held on the 9th and 10th of June throughout the island and will attract many visitors from the Caribbean and International countries. This is an action packed and thrilling event which cannot be missed. Scrutineering and the Shell V-Power King of the Hill event will be held the previous weekend on the 2nd and 3rd of June. Barbados June Event 2. Barbados Celtic Festival 2012- This event supported by the Barbados Tourism Authority is a music festival with flavours from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. It will be held from the 7th-14th June and allow you to experience this wonderful musical festival through excursions, dinner, shows and attractions in Barbados. Barbados June Event 3. Bridgetown By Night Heritage Tour- As you all may know, Bridgetown has been recently appointed a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This event will explain the history behind Bridgetown and try to increase the audience's knowledge of this site. This tour is organized by the National Cultural Foundation and will be conducted by well-known historians Mr Morris Greenidge and Trevor Marshall. This event starts at 6:00PM and the admission is $10.00 (adults) and children under 12 are free. For more information on this event please contact (246) 417-6650.
Barbados June Event 4. Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in St. Lawrence Gap- This event will be a street party held in St. Lawrence Gap to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and will be sponsored by Virgin Atlantic. This event will be held on the 3rd June from 12:00PM- 6:00PM and admission is free. There will be entertainment for children, a street parade (3:45PM) and of course restaurants will be offering up traditional English cuisine to celebrate this event.
Barbados June Event 5. Changing of the Sentry at the Main Guard-Every Wednesday the Barbados Defence Force has a small ceremony for the changing of the sentry at the main guard at the historical Garrison Savannah. The ceremony starts promptly at 11:50AM and finishes with the stirking of the clock at midday. Please note admission is free!
