What's Happening: Barbados Events July 2013
1st July, 2013As Summer is upon us, there are many activities to indulge yourself in while visiting Barbados, including many events for the Crop Over Season! If you are visiting Barbados in July, here are a few activities you may want to experience!
Barbados July Event 1. Just Dance 2013: July 1st is the final night of The Dance Place’s annual production, Just Dance! This year, the theme is “Music Legends” and features music from Michael Jackson, Queen, Celine Dion, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Madonna, our very own Rihanna and more! The show takes place at Frank Collymore Hall on Spry Street in Bridgetown, and tickets can be purchased for $45.00 (or $35.00 for children under the age of 12) at Dingolay, Sheraton; Bio Beauty, Hastings; Diamonds International, Bridgetown; and Limegrove Office, Holetown.
Barbados July Event 2. Harris Paints J/24 Regatta: For all of the sailing enthusiasts coming to Barbados, the 30th annual Harris Paints J/24 Regatta starts off at Carlisle Bay on the South Coast at 10:00 am on both July 6th and 7th. There is no cost for this event, so it is the perfect opportunity to set up a picnic on a beautiful beach on the south coast and boat-gaze as the competitors sail by. A good viewing spot is also on the Boardwalk!
Barbados July Event 3. Pan Fusion: One of the earlier Crop Over events is Pan Fusion, which takes place in the lush grounds of the Prime Minister’s house, Ilaro Court on Two Mile Hill in St. Michael on July 12th. To enjoy the sweet sounds of the steel pan under the stars, tickets can be purchased online at iTickets Barbados here, for $50 for regular admission, and $75 for VIP admission. The show starts at 7pm, right after the sun has gone down!
Barbados July Event 4. Junior Kadooment: All age groups can participate in Crop Over, and what better way to get the kids involved than Junior Kadooment taking place on July 28th! The festivities begin at 9:00 am at the National Stadium. Ticket prices vary, and can be viewed and purchased online at iTickets Barbados.
Barbados July Event 5. Soca Royale: The Soca Royale is a Sweet Soca/Ragga Soca & Calypso competition event where soca and calypso artists compete for the Party Monarch and Sweet Soca Monarch titles. This event is taking place at Bushy Park in St. Phillip and starts at 11:00 am. Tickets may be purchased online at iTickets Barbados or at CS Pharmacy in Trident House, Lower Broad Street, Bridgetown; iTickets Barbados in Cave Shepherd, Broad Street; The National Cultural Foundation, West Terrace, St. James; Warrens Ticket Centre, Supercentre Warrens, St. Michael; Shell Speightstown, Speightstown, St. Peter; JB’s Supermarket, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church; and Big B Supermarket, Peronne Plaza, Worthing, Christ Church.
