What's Happening: Barbados Events July 2012
2nd July, 2012Barbados July Event 1. Gospel Concert- This musical concert will be held on the 5th July at the Llyod Erskine Sandiford Centre from 8:00PM. You can come out for some great gospel music. For more information on this event please see the website.
Barbados July Event 2. Junior Kadooment- This is a mini Grand Kadooment Day for all of the children to enjoy, with calyspso music and fabulous costumes! Junior Kadooment will be held on the 28th July at the National Stadium from 9:00AM. Come out to cheer on all the kids! For more informaiton on this event please see the website.
Barbados July Event 3. Pic o De Crop Semi Finals- Eighteen selected semi finalists will compete for the Calypso Monarch title and eight from the eighteen will be chosen at this event to compete in the Pic O De Crop Finals. This event will be held on the 20th July at Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium from 7:00PM.
Barbados July Event 4. Soca Royale- This Crop Over event is a joint event as two competitions (Sweet Soca Monarch and Party Monarch) come together to form the Soca Royale. The contestants will be singing up tempo music in order to win. There are usually ten finalists for the Party Monarch and nine finalists for the Sweet Soca Monarch. The event will be held on the 29th July at Bushy Park from 11:00AM. For more information please see their website.
Barbados July Event 5. Crop Over Festival Pan Fusion- If you love the sounds of Caribbean steel pan, then come out to this event to enjoy an evening of music at Illaro Court from 7:00PM on the 12th July. If you can't make this event there will be two other events after this date with the same great steel pan music- Pan In The City and Pan Pun De Sand. Pan in the City will be in Independence Square from 7:00PM and Pan Pun De Sand will be at Bradon's Beach from 3:00PM. For more information please see the website.
Barbados July Event 6. Procession Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the 1937 Riots- This emancipation walk will commence from Golden Square and end at Independence Square and starts at 5:30PM on the 26th July. This event is hosted by the National Cultural Foundation as one of the official events of the Crop Over season. For more information you can contact (246) 424-0909.
