What's Happening: Barbados Events August 2016

Crop Over might be over but that doesn’t mean the summer fun has come to an end! There is never a dull moment in Barbados and Loop Barbados is here to let you know about all the amazing activities happening this month! So grab that sunscreen as we enjoy the last days of summer in style!

Barbados Event 1. Barbados Defense Force - Heart Charity 5K Walk/Run: Work off all that left over Crop Over energy with a charity walk for a great cause! Participate in the Have a Heart Charity walk/run this Saturday 6th August at 6 a.m. The route begins at BDF Headquarters and finishes at Spring Garden Highway. Register at the BDF Headquarters St. Ann’s Fort, adults BDS $30.00, Children BDS $15.00 and groups 10+ BDS $25.

Barbados Event 2. Barbados Turf Club Horse Racing Season 2: The island’s top horses and jockeys will take to the Garrison Savannah track on Saturday 6th August at 1 pm to battle it out for this years Massy United Insurance Derby Race Day. It promises to be a day of horse racing fun and excitement for the entire family! There will be entertainment by popular local soca artists, as well as a free kids zone and a chance to win amazing prizes and surprises! Don’t miss an amazing family fun day, admission is absolutely FREE!

Barbados Event 3. Exotic Barbados- 80 Mile Tour: Want to truly explore Barbados in a new and exotic way? Then this is the tour for you! Spend the day exploring the beautiful coasts of Barbados with the exquisite guided tour. Enjoy the breath taking views and the mesmerizing history this amazing island has to offer. The tour culminates with a delicious buffet lunch at the historic Sunbury Plantation.

Barbados Event 4. Kingdom Arts Festival 2016- Culinary Experience: Enjoy a night of exquisite culinary delights, as you enjoy a flavorful journey of local and international cuisines at the Concord Experience on Friday August 19th at 7 pm. Tickets are $45BDS and can be purchased from Barbadiana Sky Mall and A&B Music Sheraton Mall.

Barbados Event 5. Sunset Jazz with the NJ30+ at Ocean Two: Enjoy a delicious dinner and exquisite drinks as you are serenaded by the beautiful sounds of jazz and blues performed by the talented NJ30+ band. The performance will take place on Sunday August 21st at 7:30 pm at the Ocean Two Resort, St Lawrence Gap and admission is free.

Barbados Event 6. Pirates Cove: Start the weekend off with an unforgettable bang! Check out Pirates Cove every Thursday from 6pm for karaoke and every Friday night for their after work lime, wings and beer specials available!
