Restaurant Review: Tapas at The Mews Restaurant
17th February, 2014We were invited back to The Mews Restaurant to try their ever popular tapas and cocktails. To start off the cocktails we opted for a simple rum sour, which packed a punch and a minty mojito made with Bajan brown sugar. Then it was onto deciding what tapas we were going to sample. You can select three tapas of your choice for $50 BBD, which is a very reasonable price if you ask us! Well, we couldn’t just choose three so we opted to try five!
We started off with the beef sliders- homemade beef patties nestled in little buns with large crunchy onion rings and a marie rose sauce for dipping. These definitely got our appetite going!
It was then onto the bruschetta, which was a favourite of ours! Topped with roasted red peppers, tomato and basil pesto, they were so full of flavour. That extra parmesan cheese on top made it oh so much better!
It was then bell peppers stuffed with herbed goats cheese, if you like goats cheese you would enjoy this tapas. The tangy cheese paired well with the red bell pepper! Very tasty with out being too pungent.
We strayed back to the sliders again; just this time around we opted for the mahi mahi sliders. The guacamole was a great addition to this slider as it was composed of tomato, avocado and that perfect hint of lime. Of course we had some crunchy onion rings to go with it also!
Lastly, we devoured the crab cakes. These little morsels of seafood looked too cute to eat, but realy, not that cute. Garnished with salad and a delicious garlic aioli sauce. These were gone within minutes.
If you are looking to have a few drinks or a bottle of wine, give The Mews Restaurant a visit. Have a seat at the bar to enjoy some tapas and cocktails! A great start to a night out.
