Barefoot on the Beach: Beachy Head Beach
22nd April, 2013To be totally honest, I had no idea that this beach actually existed until a few months ago. I had always heard of the area but never knew there was a secluded beach set below a dramatic cliffside. This South East coast beach I am talking about is Beachy Head, located to the left of Ginger Bay; what in fact divides these two beaches is a piece of the cliff face which protrudes outwards onto the sand. Dotted with trees which sway in the salt breeze, pink- white sands between your toes and rolling Atlantic waves, this is one you day-dream about - picture perfect. Lovely for sunbathing, picnic-ing and just relaxing in the Bajan sun, however there are no beach amenties, so if you do need anything- bring it with you!
As we would have mentioned before with many East and South East coast beaches, you must be cautious when swimming as there is an undertow current. To access the beach, you have to travel down a large staircase, so this may or may not be suitable for certain people. Also, when the tide is low you may be able to access Beachy Head from Ginger Bay Beach by walking along the coastline.
Let us know if you have ever been to this beach! There are always little secret locations on the island we learn of every day!
