What's Happening: Launch of St Lucy Destination 439

2nd June, 2015
St. Lucy Parish Independence Committee Launch Barbados

The St Lucy Parish Independence committee launched their community based tourism parish project at the renowned Animal Flower Cave! It was an event full of education, entertainment and of course some delicious Bajan delicacies. The committee introduced the 2015 parish ambassadors; Doncia Cumberbatch and Donniko Griffith who will be representing St. Lucy in their community based tourism project! To give you some background information, the parish project is a component of the Community Independence Celebrations Secretariat (CICS) programme, which is aimed at creating and coordinating community based events which impact the social, environmental, historical or cultural needs of the parish.

The Animal Flower Cave was the perfect venue for the launch, bringing out both locals and several visitors, with its dramatic cliff faces and beautiful rugged scenery. We are looking forward to the upcoming activities and initiatives which will be encouraging community based tourism by the St. Lucy parish committee!
