What's Happening: CropOver Weekend

At last it has come, one of the most anticipated weekends of the year in Barbados- The Cropover Weekend! People come from near and far to enjoy and celebrate our Crop Over festival. This weekend will be filled with fun, energy and not to mention hype calypso music everywhere you turn! The weekend will commence with Foreday morning/ Mud Mas where many will be chipping down the road with paint and mud slathered everywhere whilst enjoying the Bajan music. On Saturday and Sunday, many flock down to Bridgetown market to enjoy the atmosphere and mingle while having a few drinks and observing what the different vendors have to offer. Sunday is the big competition- Cohobblopot which crowns the Calypso Monarch of 2012 and of course the Monday is Grand Kadooment in all its splendor. Unfocused eyes wonder with all the glittery and colourful costumes from the hundreds of bands which take part in this "Jump Up" down to Spring Garden.

Cropover is one weekend full of vibrant colours, amazing music and energy. It is a whole experience which you must be apart of; whether you are just on the sidelines for Kadooment Day or decide to indulge in all the Cropover events to get the full experience. We would definitely suggest to be involved and take part in this wonderful Bajan culture.
