Flamboyant Tree Barbados

There are many tropical, lush trees and plants scattered across Barbados however one of the most vibrant of them all is the Flamboyant Tree. It really is a sight to behold as it lights up the island with it's bright red and orange flowers that literally mask the entire tree. The Flamboyant Tree also known as the "Royal Poinciana" blossoms in June, July and August and is said to be one of the most beautiful flowering trees in the world. When in full bloom it provides not only a beautiful sight but also a large shaded area. As you wander the island, you may see locals relaxing underneath these trees or even in this case a vendor selling fresh fruits and local treats!
