Bottoms Up: Bajan Rum Punch

6th October, 2011
A Barbadian Rum Punch

Have you ever wondered how Bajans make their iconic rum punch? Well this rum punch, which is considered to be the oldest rum punch of time, is quite simple to create and is enshrined in a national rhyme..

1 part sour (fresh lime juice - preferably from green limes)
2 part sweet (sugar syrup)
3 part strong (Barbadian rum - preferably extra old)
4 part weak ( juice or water)

Once this foundation is laid, add a dash of Angostura bitters and grated nutmeg on the top of each cocktail and you have yourself the world famous "Bajan" rum punch.

Enjoy!
