Off the Beaten Track: Bath Beach

20th May, 2016
Bath Beach Barbados

On the East coast of Barbados there is a beautiful oasis hiding neatly away along the country side. This picturesque haven is an absolute charming escape making it definitely off the beaten track. Bath beach is known for its amazing views; located in the parish of St John and is one of the more popular beaches along the East coast for swimming. The bay is protected by a healthy coral reef, which provides calm waves and small pools ideal for a relaxing swim. It’s also a great location for picnics and family outings! The beach is covered by the shade of Casuarina trees and picnic tables line the shore; there is also a play park nearby which is perfect for the kids. Located a little further North of the beach itself is a very small waterfall and the remnants of the old abandoned train line that ran from nearby Bathsheba to Bridgetown. The drive to this destination takes you through the less explored countryside and is filled with amazing views, as well as a number of fantastic lookout spots. So be sure to stop along the way and take plenty pictures.
