Barbados Coming Together To Be The Change

31st October, 2012
Be The Change Barbados

We are all aware of the fact that Barbados is beautiful, and it must stay this way! We have decided to highlight today a newly developed initiative in Barbados called Be The Change. Be The Change Barbados was created by a small group of visionary women who imagined a new future for the island. In early 2012 after being inspired by the Pachamama Alliance, an organization created to empower indigenous people of the Amazon to preserve both their lands and culture, Be The Change Barbados was born.

Who are they?

Be the Change Barbados is a non- profit volunteer run organization committed to turning the tide of the future, building resiliency and connection as they create an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just Barbados.

It Is Time To Be The Change Barbados

What do they do?

Be The Change supports and facilitates various projects in Barbados such as the Story Club which was officially launched this month, and is an after-school initiative where volunteers read to primary school children throughout the island. They are also involved in increasing awareness on a diversity of issues such as the slow food initiative which promotes local, clean food.

And now the most important: How can YOU become involved?
